Honey & Chestnut Café au Lait:

Roasted chestnuts, roughly chopped
Freshly brewed coffee
Milk of choice
Make the Syrup
In a saucepan, bring honey and water to a boil, stirring to dissolve. Once it boils, turn off the heat and add the chestnuts. Infuse 30 minutes and then pour through a fine-mesh strainer into a jar.
Froth the Milk
Steam the milk with an espresso machine, or heat in a microwave safe mug until warm, then use a standalone milk frother; or add to a mason jar. Seal and shake vigorously, then microwave.
Mix the Coffee
In a 16-oz mug, combine the coffee with 3 tsp of the syrup. Slowly pour milk on top of the coffee, stirring gently to combine. Scoop out any foam that remains and add it on top.
